Huruma Means Compassion
Huruma was created to empower women in Ugandan refugee camps by providing them the basic resources (buildings, equipment and training) they need to generate income for themselves and for their children.
100% of the proceeds from sales of Huruma Clothing are invested in these women. The founders receive no income, they are motivated only by their compassion to help others less fortunate. This is known as "Huruma" in Swahili, the language of Eastern Africa.
